On March 7, 2018, Centre for Entrepreneurship organised Be a Technopreneur, where the participants had to create a working prototype of their an innovative idea. Mr Sumit Shah, Regional Manager, Mozilla, Gujarat was invited to judge the participants.
The one-day event saw huge student participation from different engineering colleges of Gujarat. There were 18 participating teams, comprising of 3 or 4 members. Each team had a kit of necessary raw material and a time of 4 hours to ideate and execute. The teams had to create a prototype within the given time frame.
The prototypes were evaluated based on three criteria- design, stability and innovation. The students came up with ideas, that if commercialised could help in the overall development of society. Some of the creations were birdfeeder, VR gloves, computer system, mobile back cover, and safety guard for the vehicles. The students showed excellent creativity, design and technicality through their ideas.
After careful evaluation, the automatic bird feeder prepared with a plastic bottle emerged as the winner.
